More Eleventh Circuit Rule Changes

The Eleventh Circuit has proposed a few more minor rule changes, which will become effective in December, 2010 if approved. The main change is to shift a few ten day deadlines to 14 days rather to ten, to get things back in line with the “days are days” revision to all of the Federal rules.

August 1 Revisions to the Eleventh Circuit’s IOPs

The Eleventh Circuit has made some minor tweeks to its Internal Operating Procedures (.pdf) (IOPs). If the mandate is going to be held due to a judge requesting a poll, the court will let the parties know via PACER. If you keep a paper copy of these rules, be sure to save a tree and only print the few pages that need replacing.

How To: Expanded Record Excerpts

Last month, the Eleventh Circuit explained what it expected attorneys to include in expanded record excerpts. This month, the Court has provided additional guidance [.pdf], providing a summary judgment checklist and a sample of the form the Court expects attorneys to follow for the Index of Expanded Record Excerpts and Table of Record Excerpts.
