Florida Governor Rick Scott has appointed Fifth District Court of Appeal Judge C. Alan Lawson to the Florida Supreme Court. Justice Lawson will take the seat vacated by retiring Justice James E.C. Perry, who is required to retire due to age.

Lawson will be the 86th Justice to serve on the Florida Supreme Court. Justice Lawson graduated from the Florida State University School of Law with highest honors, after getting a Bachelor’s from Clemson. He’s a former Assistant County Attorney for Orange County, and before that worked in private practice and as in-house counsel.

Congratulations and welcome Justice Lawson.
